Intel said it has hired former Palm and Apple VP Mike Bell to act as vice president and director of its smartphone product development. The chip maker is as desperate as a desperate thing to get into the smartphone market. Manufacturers are generally turning their noses up at Intel chips preferring ARM's instead.
