Apple To Offer iPad Engraving For Free

Apple will offer free iPad engraving for customers who buy iPad towards the end of the year, a move that will put the device firmly in the iPod family; Apple doesn't currently offer iPhone engraving and is unlikely to ever offer it.

According to Gadget blog Erictric who received an email from an anonymous source, Apple will be offering customers the option to get their iPads engraved shortly before the end of the year.

Apple already does laser engraving for the whole range of iPod devices for free and may want to add a personalised touch to the iPad tablet as it prepares for the lucrative end of year Christmas period.

Nearly 3.3 million iPad devices have been sold as of Friday the 16th which means that Apple is on target to sell more than 10 million in 2010, not bad for a device that costs £499 and doesn't do multi tasking.
