Apple investigating iOS4 issues on older iPhones

Sluggish performance

Apple is reported to be investigating multiple problems with its latest mobile operating system on older iPhones.

iPhone forums have been full of 3G and 3GS owners complaining about sluggish performance and poor battery life since the recently-renamed OS was upgraded to version 4 to co-incide with the launch of the iPhone 4.

Unfortunately for owners of older models, the latest hardware's antenna woes seem to have taken all the headlines, leaving many of Apple fans who didn't take the upgrade option out in the cold.

Users have also been reporting painfully long back-up times and screen glitches and the Cupertino company is now said to be looking into compatibility issues with iOS4.

Some pundits have gone so far as to recommend sticking with the previous version of the mobile OS until Apple releases the findings of its investigation and upgrades the software.
