Facebook has unveiled a beta version of its new question and answer service, tech news site PC World has reported.
The new Q&A feature, Facebook Questions, will allow users to post questions on any number of topics, and receive answers from the Facebook community. The questions will automatically be posted to users' friends, their friends, and anyone who lists the question's topic as an interest.
Users can also attach photos or polls to their questions.
The feature has been made available to selected users for testing and feedback and is accessed by clicking an 'Ask Question' tab on the top of the user's profile page.
Writing on the Facebook blog, Blake Ross, the company's director of product, wrote: "Facebook Questions helps you tap into the collective knowledge of the more than 500 million people on Facebook."
Facebook Questions comes after the launch of a number of other Q&A services from companies including Ask.com, Quora, Mahalo and Yahoo Answers.
