Microsoft has proved once again that it can't market a product to save its life, with an excruciatingly embarrassing demo of its Kinect motion-sensing game system.
The footage below was shot at a Hong Kong animation festival and features a pair of quite obviously clueless Asian models jiggling about to Kinect Sports and Dance Central on a stage which is quite obviously too narrow to accommodate the Kinect's 'wave-your-hands-in-the-air-like-you-just-don't-care' controllerless controller.
Blinded by a barrage of flash photography, the hardware obviously fails to cope with sensing the movements of the half-dressed popsies, and what you see on screen bares little or no relationship to what is happening on the stage. Obviously.
Some companies (think fruit) are often pilloried for being all marketing and no substance - but this particular debacle seems to be no marketing and no substance. And no hope.
Once again it looks like it's too little, too late... and way too cheesy, for the Microsoft Dinosaur.
