Twitter Launches "Suggestions for You"

Twitter launched the "Suggestions for You" feature on Friday, designed to help users find and follow those with similar interests, news agency AFP reports.

The feature compares users' profile information to find and suggest people that share the same views and interests.

Writing on the company blog, Twitter wrote: “The suggestions are based on several factors, including people you follow and the people they follow. You'll see these suggestions on Twitter.com and the Find People section.”

Twitter has added a "Who to follow" link on the homepage which provides users with a list of suggested accounts to follow.

The company explained that the algorithm used in the feature will be able to point out the accounts users are most likely to follow.

Twitter has said that users will be able to view a suggested user's profile before deciding to follow them.

The company has said that it will be releasing the suggestions feature to developers, allowing them to integrate the feature into desktop and mobile Twitter applications in the future.
