O2 will sell the iPhone 4 on PAYG, becoming the fourth mobile phone network after Orange, Vodafone and Tesco Mobile to do so; T-Mobile and 3 UK have yet to make any announcements in this direction.
The phone will be sold for £495 (for the 16GB version) and £595 (for the 32GB one) respectively. By default, you will be on the Text & Web Pay & Go tariffs which gives you 300 texts and 500MB internet when you top up £10 a month.
However there's no mention as to whether the phone will come with free internet for 12 months or unlimited Wi-Fi, something that both Orange and Vodafone have offered to their iPhone 4 PAYG users.
Tesco Mobile subsequently said that it will no longer sell the iPhone 4 on PAYG. Both Vodafone and Orange did not have any PAYG stock at the time of writing and earlier reports confirmed that their customers would have to wait for a few weeks for stocks to stabilise.
On the other O2 appears to have enough stock running although, if Vodafone's experience shows that the whole stock is likely to be sold within 24 hours.
