Playboy Censors Porn For iPad App

Playboy has decided to censor nudity on its official application for the Apple's iPad.

In an effort to avoid being censored, Playboy has voluntarily decided to conceal nude images in a bid to get a spot in the Apple iPad App Store.

Apple is known for its strict no-porn policy and has a tendency to reject applications that are even remotely related to pornography.

The news of Playboy's wilful censorship has not gone down well with its fans, who believe that the magazine won't be the same without the nudity, even if Playboy constantly claims it offers quality journalism as well.

Commenting on Playboy's move, US media website MinOnline wrote: “The problem for Playboy is that the missing pieces are so obvious because they are so well known.”

Back in April, when questioned about the absence of porn from iPhone and iPod Touch platforms, Apple CEO Steve Jobs had said: “We have a moral responsibility to keep porn off the iPhone.” So we know, where the anti-porn agenda in Apple stems from.
