UK Kinect release dated

Jump for joy

Microsoft has announced that its Kinect motion-sensing controller will go on sale in the UK on November 10th this year.

The 'wave-your-hands-in-the-air-like-you-just-don't-care' controller, which has received a less-than-enthusiastic response from potential punters and pundits alike, will also go on sale throughout the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Africa on the same date.

Until now, demos of the camera-based Xbox add-on have been nothing short of underwhelming with glitchy game-play, technical tantrums and unacceptable lag plaguing Microsoft's promotional efforts.

In fact, many have suggested that the original and impressive tech demo of the hardware, which featured creepy kid simulation Milo and Kate, was nothing more than a carefully stage-managed fake.

The €150 gadget will be bundled with the Kinect Adventure game and it is expected that more than 15 compatible games will be outed at the same time.

The announcement was made at the GamesCon shindig in Cologne, Germany today, and we can expect to see more demos and reactions from the attending press as the event continues.
