Bing Now Powering Yahoo Search

Microsoft's Bing is now powering Yahoo's search engine in the USA and Canada, one year after the 10 year search pact was signed between the two companies.

On Tuesday, Microsoft announced that its search engine Bing is now running all search results on Yahoo in the US and Canada, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

"This is a great milestone for Bing and Yahoo and our customers, and we are happy to report the transition has gone smoothly and we feel great about the progress our search alliance has been making over the summer," wrote Satya Nadella, senior vice president of Yahoo's online services division, in an official blogpost.

According to the deal, the Redmond-based software giant will power web, images and videos search results on Yahoo's website for both personal computers and mobile phones, and Yahoo will use Microsoft's advertising platform, AdCenter, to advertise on the platform.
