Aussie company ordered not to sell PS3 hack chips

A company offering to sell USB dongles which break the PlayStation 3's security has been ordered by an Australian court to stop doing so.

Ozmodchips, which had offered the devices for sale for around £100 on pre-order has been told not to import, distribute or offer for sale the PS Jailbreak device which is the first gadget to successfully circumvent the games console's security measures.

The outfit, which probably drew a little to much attention to itself by shouting about the new device, is currently showing the USB box of tricks as sold out.

Reports on PS3 IRC channels are suggesting that the company is cancelling further pre-orders and refunding money already paid.
