The dominance of Adobe's Flash video player over the Web could be coming to an end. Mpeg LA, the standards body which oversees multimedia standards for the Internet, has announced that the H.264 video streaming codec will be made available on a royalty-free basis, bringing long-running fears over HTML5 video licensing restrictions to an end.
