iPhone 4 targeted in Apple Store smash and grabs

Two raids in two weeks

Two Apple Stores have been the victims of smash and grab raids in the USA within a fortnight according to reports.

The first burglary, which took place in broad daylight in Dallas, netted the crooks eight laptops and every one of the store's iPhone 4 display units according to 9 to 5 Mac.

In the latest attack on a San Diego outlet, which took place in the early hours of the morning, the crooks decided not to bother with the less portable laptops, opting instead to grab only the easily-trousered iPhone 4s.

The hoody-wearing crooks obviously realised that the £600 IPhone 4s were the easiest items to conceal, but we wonder whether they know that each iPhone has a unique identification code and can be remotely disabled.

It's also rumoured that Apple Store display models automatically reset themseleves to factory defaults at the end of each working day in order remove dodgy content added by pesky meddling kids.
