Citrix Systems has announced the acquisition of VMLogix, however it did not reveal any financial details of the deal.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Citrix Systems has announced that it has completed the takeover of virtualised management solutions provider, VMLogix for the speedier development of its OpenCloud platform.
"It's about providing the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of cloud services designed around an open framework that encourages innovation and interoperability while optimising cost" stated Klaus Oestermann, vice president and general manager for Networking and cloud product group at Citrix.
Neither firm provided any financial detail about the acquisition, which is expected to be finalised in the third quarter of the current financial year. VMLogix, which went live in 2004 is based in Palo Alto, California.
Citrix is expected to showcase the features of its new OpenCloud service and tools acquired by VMLogix at the VMWorld Conference slated to be held next week.
Both companies have partnered together before with VMLogix providing building blocks for Citrix's XenServer virtualisation products.
