Brocade is on the verge of unveiling a new Ethernet/IP product line, which will bring 100Gbps Ethernet capabilities to its router and switches offerings. With the new 100Gbps Ethernet powered product line, Brocade hopes to give rivals Cisco and Juniper a run for their money in the router and switches market.
In an emailed statement to Network World, Brocade said that “This announcement also marks Brocade's most significant networking platform development as a result of acquiring Foundry Networks to address a $30 billion addressable market.”
In what it calls an 'industry altering' announcement, Brocade plans to introduce a new router, a unified network management tool and 100G modules with pricing.
Experts believe that the 100G product line about to be introduced by Brocade may help boost Brocade's fortunes and restore some confidence in the network firm.
This is something the company has been struggling with since it acquired Foundry Networks; the company's third quarter financial results indicated a drop of 5 per cent in the sale of Ethernet/IP products.
