Apple Confirms iOS 4.1 For 8th Of September

Apple has confirmed on its UK website that the iOS 4.1 will be released on the 8th of September, next Wednesday, although the US and the French websites still display the "coming soon" message.

(ed : After this article has been written, Apple has swapped the "available on 8 September, for the "coming soon" message).

This makes sense given that Apple will release the new iPod Touch with the new software update and that on its UK website, it says that it will ship within 5 to 7 business days, which means that iOS 4.1 will be with us on Monday 13th at the latest.

The update will bring in HDR Photography, Game Center, 99c TV Show rentals (in the US), support for Apple's infamous Ping social feature, Wi-Fi HD video uploading and will sort out a number of bugs including the proximity sensor.
