Samsung To Launch Samsung Galaxy i5510 Qwerty Handset

A mid-range Android-based QWERTY slider by the name of Galaxy i5510 and made by Samsung has been seen at IFA in Berlin, Germany.

The guys at SamsungHub and GSMArena say that the device should cost around £165 including taxes and early pictures show a great little handset with a decent sized LCD screen (not AMOLED).

Other details that have emerged include Android OS 2.2 Froyo with Samsung's own Touchwiz GUI on top, Bluetooth (some sources say v3), Wi-Fi, a microSD slot and a 5-megapixel camera with no flash

The keyboard has only four rows and we expect the i5510 to come with an ARM-based processor running at 600MHz or less.

Vodafone has apparently managed to get an exclusive on this one, a second win for the red team after the Galaxy Tab tablet.

The phone will be facing a number of mid-range Android and non-Android sliders as well, like the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Pro Mini or the Nokia N900, all which have been launched or are set to be launched over the forthcoming months.
