New statistics have revealed that the market share of Android-based mobile phones is continuing to rise the lucrative smartphone market.
According to statistics revealed by web monitoring firm Quantcast for August, smartphones powered by Google's Android operating system have seen a firm rise in market share in comparison to Apple's iPhone iOS.
Statistics also reveal that Apple's iOS-based devices, which were the highest web consumer in July with 56 per cent of the market share, has not seen much of an increase this month.
Research In Motion's BlackBerry devices have fallen to nine per cent from the 10 per cent recorded last month.
HTC and Motorola's Android-based smartphones accounted for 11 per cent and 10 per cent of total web consumption in smartphones section respectively.
