O2 Android 2.1 Dell Streak Update Released

O2 has released the Android 2.1 software update for the Dell Streak, bringing a number of new and improved features to the device.

The Android 2.1 update will bring HTML 5 support, pinch to zoom capabilities for Google Maps, an enhanced on-screen virtual keyboard and high definition video recording capabilities to the device.

O2 has said that he Dell Streak mini tablet will receive the software update once the device is restarted.

Those who don't wish to get the over-the-air update can download the software manually by going to the Settings menu and clicking on About Phone and System Updates.

O2 has advised users to use a Wi-Fi connection when updating the device in order to avoid additional charges.

Users have also been advised to make up back-ups of the data on the PCs or the micro SD cards before updating the device, as the update will erase all the data on the device.

The company explained that the update is supposed to take approximately 30 minutes, depending on the connection speed.
