O2 has begun to roll out the Android 2.2 software update for HTC Desire smartphone owners on its network.
The update brings high definition video recording and enhanced speeds to the popular device and users have been prompted to install Android 2.2 as an over-the-air update.
Tech news site Tech Radar has reported that a number of the users that have already installed the update seem to be experiencing issues, with many reporting that their smartphones have become frozen and unresponsive at the boot stage of the installation.
O2 has said that it has taken the update off the air as it looks into the matter and will update users as more information becomes available.
In a statement posted on its forums, an O2 executive said: “While we check out these issues we’re putting the 2.2 update on hold. We’ll update you as soon as possible and would like to thank our HTC Desire customers for their patience.”
