Data centre service provider BlueLock has announced the availability of the CloudConnector management tool for VMware customers.
The tool allows customers to manage their workload between a private and public cloud.
The announcement, which was made during the VMworld conference, is a part of VMware's move to provide external data centre services via five partner companies.
Apart from BlueLock, Verizon Business, Terremark, Colt and Singtel were announced as partners.
According to Pat O'Day, the chief technology officer of BlueLock, the CloudConnector is designed to work with VMware's vCloud Director in order to allow IT administrators to manage the workloads between the public BlueLock cloud and VMware's on-premise private cloud.
O'Day said in a statement: “If you know how to manage your virtual machines with the VMware vSphere Client, you know how to manage our cloud with BlueLock CloudConnector.”
The partnership will allow VMware to offer hybrid cloud services to its clients, which allow them to reallocate some of the workload handled on a private cloud to a public cloud.
