An Australian website has somehow managed to get a quasi-formal confirmation that the first Windows Phone 7 from HTC, the HD3 (or HD7) will be launched in London at the Hyatt Hotel on the 15th of September during a two hour event.
Smarthouse says that there will be a new Android tablet and a new HTC Desire HD smartphone revealed at the same time.
As for the HD3, rumour has it that it will come with a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC running at 1.5GHz with 1GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, a 8-megapixel camera, a 4.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen device with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, 4G, two LED flashes, HDMI port, a 1800mAh battery and a 10mm thick profile.
We're slightly baffled about the specs because they're simply too high and would certainly put HTC back in the driving seat, ahead of Apple's iPhone 4 if they happen to be true; it will be interesting to see whether the new Qualcomm SoC is based on the Cortex A8 or the A9 technology.
Wednesday 15th is shaping up to be a rather important day with the launch of the first beta of Internet Explorer 9 and the second day of Nokia World 2010 in London where a number of handsets are set to be revealed.
