News@5: New iPod Touch Shipping Already, O2 Pulls HTC Desire Froyo Update & Craiglist

Apple has already started to send the new iPod Touch to customers who have already ordered it with numerous reports already appearing on Twitter both in the US and in the UK. The new device will come with a front facing camera, FaceTime video conferencing technology, HD video recording, Retina Display and iOS 4.1 with GameCenter.

O2 has pulled the over-the-air HTC Desire Android 2.2 software update shortly after its roll-out. The move comes after a number of consumers complained on O2 forums that the software update had caused their smartphones to freeze and was posing problems while being installed, such as crashing the browser.

The majority of web users are against the censorship of Craiglist's 'Erotic Services' section, a recent poll shows. According to an online poll conducted by Mashable, around 71 per cent of the respondents voted 'No' to the question “Should Craigslist's Adult Services be censored?”.

UK retailer PC World has released a cloud-based media streaming service for Apple's iPad. The iPad Media Streaming service from PC World will allow users to store up to 100 GB of media files in a cloud based locker and access them from their iPad tablet. Users will be able to stream music, videos and photos, straight to their iPad device anywhere they are, using a 3G or Wi-Fi connection.

Using social networking site Facebook can have an impact on students' exam performance, a survey carried out in the United States by Professor Paul Kirschner of the Open University in Netherlands has revealed.
