A new image leak claims to reveal the user interface of HTC's upcoming Desire HD smartphone.
Spotted on a German retailer's website by BestBoyz, the leaked shot is a large image, which the site claims is of HTC Desire HD.
According to tech news site Electric Pig, the leaked image hints at a Windows Mobile 6.5 user interface, causing doubts about the authenticity of the image as HTC's Desire is based on Google's Android operating system.
Since the device has already been listed by HTC, the Desire HD is expected to be launched soon, possibly at an HTC press event set to be held on 15 September.
The Desire HD is an international version of HTC's popular Android-based smartphone, the Evo 4G.
Microsoft has listed the HTC as one of its hardware partners for the Windows Phone 7 OS, therefore, suggesting that when HTC releases a Windows Phone-based device, it will use Windows Phone 7, and not be based on Windows Mobile 6.5.
