News@5: Nokia Poaches Microsoft's Elop, Flash On iOS & Xbox 360 Sales

Microsoft's Xbox 360 has outsold rival consoles in the US market during August, a new report shows. According to a report published by market research company NDP Group, the sales of Microsoft's Xbox 360 console have surpassed all others, capturing 66 per cent of total console sales last month.

Apple has removed a ban prohibiting app developers from using Adobe's Flash Software and other third party developer tools on their products. In a statement, the company said that it has removed restrictions placed on iPhone and iPad app developers to use Adobe's Flash software in their products.

Nokia has hired Microsoft's former business head as CEO following a recent slump in profits. Stephen Elop, the former head of the business division at Microsoft, has left the software giant to join Nokia as its new chief executive officer.

Adobe has rekindled its Packager for iPhone tool, designed to turn Flash applications into iOS apps. The move follows Apple' removing the restrictions it had earlier imposed on the use of third part developer tools in applications for its platform.

The BBC led IP TV platform Project Canvas has received the support of the electronics industry. Around 40 manufacturers have shown interest in Project Canvas, and have said that they are willing to support it in any way they can.
