Early figures show that Halo: Reach has managed to unsurprisingly conquered the video games charts across the UK, only a few hours after it was launched. HMV, Amazon and Play all three had Halo: Reach and Halo: Reach, the Limited Collectors Edition listed as number one and number two on their game charts.

The UK government has confirmed today that internet service providers and copyright holders will have to shoulder the costs associated with the Digital Economy Act. Ed Vaizey, the minister for communications, said that the costs would be shared at a ratio of 3:1 with Internet Service Providers.

Taiwanese electronics giant Acer may be bringing three Android-based tablet to market in the first quarter of 2011 as it prepares its assault on rivals like Samsung or Toshiba, who have already announced theirs.

Shares in Hewlett-Packard (HP) surged following the company's announcement to acquire ArcSight. The stock value of HP at the end of trade on Tuesday saw price rise by $1.35 per share, or three per cent, to close as $39.63.

Microsoft's Bing search engine has overtaken Yahoo to become the 2nd most popular internet search engine in the US after Google. According to a report released by Nielson, Microsoft search offerings, which include Bing, MSN and Windows Live, now hold 13.9 per cent of the search market share, more than the 13.1 per cent held by Yahoo.
