The launch of Halo : Reach, the latest in the Halo video game series, has resulted in a significant rise in the sales of Microsoft's Xbox 360 gaming console in the UK.
According to latest metrics released by UK gaming chart monitor Gfk-ChartTrack, in the previous week, Xbox 360 sales have nearly doubled as people rushed to purchase the new video game and get a new console at the same time
The rise in Xbox 360 sales was pumped by the limited edition Halo themed Xbox 360 gaming console being offered by UK retailer GAME.
The bundle includes a silvery grey coloured Xbox 360 Slim with two wireless controllers and a copy of Halo Reach, all for £250 including delivery.
Halo : Reach, which was launched last week on September 14th, managed to sell 300,000 copies within the first 24 hours of its release.
Meanwhile, people using the 4GB Xbox 360 console are still unable to play the new game, as Microsoft promises to release a fix for the problem soon enough.
Last time when the gaming console had experienced a surge in sales was when Microsoft released the Xbox 360 S model, which had resulted in a 1,000 percent increase in Xbox 360 gaming console sales.
