Microsoft has updated its Microsoft Office Web Apps platform to allow users to embed PowerPoint presentations and Excel sheets on their websites.
Launched to take on Google Docs, Microsoft Office Web Apps allows users to edit OneNote, Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents on the web.
Microsoft announced via blog post that Office Web Apps had now more than 20 million users worldwide and was expanding to 7 more countries - Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Russia, and Switzerland.
According to the company, users will be able to embed their PowerPoint presentations and Excel documents on personal blogs and websites.
The company also said that in case of Excel, the embedded Excel sheet will get updated when the original document gets updated.
“You might embed a PowerPoint presentation of photos from your last vacation, share slides from a lecture or talk that you enjoyed, or broadcast your knowledge of a special subject,” Microsoft's Holly Thomas wrote on the blog.
