Some sneaky detective work from World of Warcraft fans has unearthed the long awaited release date of the Cataclysm patch.
The major paid-for upgrade to the planet's favourite online role-player was originally slated for an October release but game-maker Blizzard has been dragging its heals on the release and keeping eager warriors an warlocks on tenterhooks.
Featuring a new level 85 cap, a couple of brand new character classes, and the usual barrage of new areas to explore, Cataclysm will now be released on December 7th if the latest rumoured are to be believed.
The folks at fan site Wowhead have found a reference buried deep within the bowels of the documentation for the beta release currently doing the rounds which says: "Arena battles and Rated Battlegrounds are only available during an active player versus player combat season. Season nine will begin on December 14th, so be prepared at that time to take your shot at glory!"
Any earlier official statement from Blizzard says: "The next Arena Season will begin for level-85 players approximately one week after the official launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm."
Even we can work that one out! December 7th it is, then.
Better get that armour out of ye olde pawn shoppe.
