Morecomputers, the popular online retailer from Sheffield, currently lists the Samsung Galaxy Tab for £551.08, saying that the tablet, otherwise known as the GT-P1000CWAXEU, will be available on the 15th of October.
The deal, which can be found here, comes with one big string attached, the fact that should this be a misprice, Morecomputers will cancel the order and refund the customer.
That said, Morecomputers has received a number of awards from PC Pro and the price difference between Morecomputers and the former lowest price (£587.49), is too small for it to be a pricing mistake.
At £551 excluding delivery, the Galaxy Tab is seriously close in price to the 16GB 3G Apple iPad and adding a 16GB microSD card, which costs around £20, means that you can get a 32GB tablet for £571, less than the equivalent Apple iPad.
The Galaxy Tab is considered by many to be the most serious competitor to Apple's tablet. It comes with Android OS 2.2, a 1GHz ARM-based processor, 256MB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 7-inch WSVGA capacitive touchscreen and a full array of features you'd expect to find on a mainstream 3G device.
