UK Government builds digital testing ground

The UK's Technology Strategy Board seems to have ducked its head under the swinging axe of ConDem IT cuts and has today launched a new digital sand box for UK tech companies.

IC Tomorrow is billed as a digital testing ground for application developers who want to get feedback from real people rather than the usual gang of geeks who sign up for beta testing programmes.

Created as a result of the 2009 Digital Britain Report, the venture will create a purpose-built on-line experimental environment in which app developers can test their wares, and more importantly, have the great British public do the same.

Companies like Sony UK, Getty Images and Crytek have signed up for the scheme and will provide content and advice on how to commercialise submissions.

The web site is currently signing up developers and testers, and you can join the fun here.
