GreenPois0n For Mac Released

After rolling out the Windows version of the GreenPois0n tool, the Chronic Dev Team has released the iOS 4.1 jailbreak tool for Mac.

Like the Windows and Linux versions, the GreenPois0n for Mac tool is capable of jailbreaking all iOS 4.1 devices including the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4 and iPhone Touch 3G, and the iPad.

Redmond Pie is offering step by step instructions on how to use the GreenPois0n jailbreak tool on Mac, here.

The GreenPois0n tool was supposed to launch a long way back, but was delayed owing to the launch of the Limera1n jailbreak tool by Geohot. This had prompted the Chronic Dev Team to re-program GreenPois0n to use the vulnerability used by Limera1n and save its own exploit for later, when Apple patches the hole used by Geohot's tool.

People looking to jailbreak their iOS 4.1 devices are advised to make back-ups of their data before jailbreaking the device and should keep it in mind that once an Apple device is jailbroken, its warranty becomes void.
