Microsoft Game Studios has announced that the company has no plans of re-releasing the HD versions of popular Xbox 360 games in the future.
Speaking to the IGN news service, Phil Spencer, the corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios said that the company has no plans to re-do the old titles to make them playable in HD.
He also added that re-releasing popular Xbox titles in HD has very little consumer value.
Spencer said: “I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea. We obviously have a lot of new things going on, so the thought of re-doing a bunch of things is probably difficult to just weave into the overall portfolio.”
Meanwhile, Microsoft rival Sony is re-releasing some of the most popular PlayStation 2 titles in HD for its newer PlayStation 3 gaming console.
The company released a God of War collection for the PS3, while Sly Cooper, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are also being prepared.
