Google has released the new Places Search feature, set to allow users to look up local business in their area.
Places Search is designed to make sure users will not have to perform multiple searches to find what they need.
The new feature presents multiple search results for a particular place or activity in one cluster.
For example, if searching for a doctor in the area, users would get all the information on the doctors in one search result, complete with map and a website link. The same would be applicable for any particular kind of food or restaurant.
The company added that the local search results will never appear automatically but will have to be selected from the left side pane that contain other categories likes Web and Images.
“We’ve made results like this possible by developing technology to better understand places. With Place Search, we’re dynamically connecting hundreds of millions of websites with more than 50 million real-world locations,” Jackie Bavaro, a product manager at Google wrote on a blog post.
