Cisco Releases Social Network Monitoring Tool

Cisco has released a new business tool set to allow companies to keep track of and reply to comments made by customers on social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

The Cisco SocialMiner software is designed to alert businesses about any product specific comments made on social networks, forums and blogs.

The software will allow for the real-time monitoring of status messages, as well as forum and blog posts related to a company's product.

The software will let companies know what their customers are saying about their products and services over the internet. This will allow businesses get insider knowledge of the market and of the needs of their customers.

John Hernandez, vice president and general manager, Customer Collaboration Business Unit, Cisco, said in a statement: “As an active user of social media, Cisco realises the value of social media interactions to our business. Our employees were some of the earliest adopters of MySpace, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and other social sites.”
