SEGA’s Premier League PC game Football Manager 2011 has stormed to the top spot of the UK gaming chart.
Developed by Sports Interactive, Football Manager 2011 has managed to push back traditional favourites like FIFA and Fable to grab the top slot.
FIFA 11, which previously held the top position, is down to second place followed by Fable III in third, with FIFA 11 showing a 24 per cent drop in sales this week while the latest instalment of Fable, saw a 64 per cent decline in sales, according to Spong.
Further down the chart, Just Dance 2 managed to grab the number 4 position, closely followed by Professor Layton and the Lost Future.
New Super Mario Bros for the Wii also managed to stay into the top 10 by grabbing the number 6 position, whilst Fallout: New Vegas, Medal of Honor, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II and The Sims 3 took the final four positions in the list.
Football Manager 2011 is the second PC exclusive game to reach the top of the gaming chart in the UK market this year, the other being Blizzard’s StarCraft II.
