Microsoft has partnered with Fujitsu to offer Azure-based cloud computing services to UK businesses.
Announced in a press release, the partnership will aim to provide innovative software applications to help UK businesses and provide better opportunities to the Independent Software Vendor community.
The move will allow Microsoft to push its flagship cloud platform Azure to businesses in the UK. Azure is designed to host and deliver software applications to businesses from the cloud.
Under the partnership, Fujitsu will be responsible for providing services that will enable, deliver and manage services hosted on Azure. The company will also help ISV to offer their software applications as services to UK businesses using the Azure platform.
Gordon Frazer, Microsoft’s UK managing director, said in a statement: “The introduction of the Windows Azure platform marks an important industry milestone in the transformation to cloud computing and presents an exciting opportunity for private and public sector organisations, as well as the ISV community.”
