Mobiles.co.uk, a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse, has quietly cut the price of the LG GS101 down to 19p although you need to buy a mandatory £10 topup from Orange, which is automatically added at check out.
The deal, which is available here, includes free next day delivery and Mobiles.co.uk says that the handset will work on any network (although not on 3 UK whose 3G network is not compatible with basic phones).
The phone has a colour screen, weighs only 70g, has a 500-entries phonebooks, SMS, vibrating alert, games, polyphonic ringtones but no FM radio. How good is the deal? Well, Amazon and Asda sell the T-Mobile version of it for £9.99.
Earlier this month Carphone Warehouse announced that it would be selling UK's cheapest phone, a 99p Alcatel handset, on Virgin mobile and we certainly prefer the GS101 to the John's phone, a super expensive £67 handset for extremely wealthy anti-smartphone customers.
