Channel Five Launches Video On Demand Service For Sony PS3 Gaming Console

Sony's has added yet another video on demand service to its Playstation 3 gaming console in the form of Channel Five's Demand Five.

The PS3 is already home to Lovefilm and BBC iPlayer OD services with Channel 4 and ITV Player expected to arrive soon on the popular gaming platform.

In addition, Richard Desmond's Channel Five, can also be accessed from the PS3's browser with an estimated one in 33 viewers accessing Demand Five via this alternative.

Xbox 360 gamers have yet to benefit from the same but it is unlikely that whey will have to wait for long. Current generation of console manufacturers have been assiduously courted by content creators like BBC or carriers like BSkyB.

As for Channel Five, it has officially joined Youview, formally known as Project Canvas, and has overhauled video on demand service to give it a more "iPlayer" look.
