Apple has issued a fix for what it is calling a 'rare issue' with the latest MacBook Air models released just a few weeks ago.
The MacBook Air EFI firmware update 2.0 fixes a problem where one of Apple's razor-sharp laptops comes out of sleep mode with a black screen and can also be unresponsive, no matter how hard you hit the keys.
It has taken Apple more than a month to fix the bug which first came to light on November 4th after leaked internal memos revealed that the company was aware of the problem and was working on a fix.
The patch will only update the firmware on 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air laptops released in late 2010.
Apple advises that the patch must be applied with the laptop plugged into a power source as the update takes several minutes to complete.
After this update has successfully completed, your Boot ROM Version will be: MBA31.88Z.0061.B01.1011181342. The ROM itself is: 0061.01
