BioWare has revealed that Mass Effect 3 will be launched for the Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3 during the 2011 holiday season.
Unveiled during the Spike Video Game Awards, the game is the first Mass Effect game to be launched simultaneously on three different platforms.
EA released Mass Effect 2 earlier this year, which has since gone on to become the highest rated game for 2010 on both PC and Xbox 360. The game also managed to bag the award for Best RPG and Best Xbox 360 Game at the award ceremony while BioWare was named the Studio of the Year.
Ray Muzyka, group general manager and co-founder of BioWare, said in a statement: “We could not be prouder of the team's accomplishments with 'Mass Effect 2,' and are excited and humbled by all of the recognition the game has received so far. We can't wait to show you what the team is doing to make 'Mass Effect 3' an even bigger success.”
