Samsung preps 'luxury' Galaxy Tab

Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung is preparing to launch the Samsung Galaxy Tab 'Luxury Edition', complete with leather case and bluetooth headset.

The device, set to cost around 750 Euro $1,000, was unveiled by the company at the Millionaire Fair in Amsterdam, a European expo which showcases overpriced and 'luxurious' items ranging from gadgets to airplanes.

There is very little unique about the 'Luxury Edition' Galaxy Tab, aside from the leather bag and the bluetooth headset. Oh, and the 'luxury' label.

Samsung said sold one million Galaxy Tab units worldwide within the first two months of its launch, which is quite impressive. Apple's all-conquering rival the iPad, sold two million units in its first two months. Unilke the iPad you can actually also make phone calls with the Tab.

There might be a bit of business to be had in this tablet business after all.

The Galaxy Tab is powered by a 1 GHz processor ARM Cortex A8 with PowerVR SGX540 graphics and features full HD video playback capabilities (up to 7 hours) and support for Adobe Flash 10.1.

The company is expected to launch the 'Luxury Edition' tomorrow and will offer it as a limited bundle until January next year.
