Sony may soon be launching the highly awaited PlayStation phone if a recent batch of leaked photos is to be believed.
The photos, first reported by Engadget, suggest that Sony will launch the device under the Xperia brand name. The leaked unit features a black fascia with a large touch screen and a silver slide-down control pad, allowing for sideways use of the device.
The phone, which is likely to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, will come with a game pad and the trademark PlayStation controls. The prototype model shown in the photos is seen to be running on Google's Android 2.3.
Rumors indicating that the PlayStation phone is alive and kicking have been circulating on the net for some time now. The device is expected to have a 512 MB RAM, 8GB of internal memory and will be as thick as the PSP Go, the successor to Sony's PSP Slim hand-held gaming device.
