News@5: News Corp Plans To Sell Myspace, Shazam and Spotify Partner Up For Mobile App & Asus Android

News Corporation has revealed that it is looking to merge, sell or spinoff ailing social network MySpace. The move comes just a day after Myspace announced that it would be laying off around half of its 1,000-strong global workforce.

Shazam has announced the integration of its iOS and Android apps with music streaming service Spotify. The mobile music discovery service said that its range of free and premium apps for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices will come with a new 'Play in Spotify' feature, set to directly take users to the Spotify app to listen to the tracks they either tag or discover through Shazam.

Those wanting to buy the Asus Android-based tablets on show at CES last week will be disappointed to learn that the Taiwanese company won't be launching them until the third quarter of 2011.
