The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 has recently gone on sale in the UK but the Android-based handset has already been significantly discounted with T-Mobile selling the handset for as little as £10.74 per month.
After the VAT increase, the smartphone costs £15.32 per month on a two year contract but Buymobilephones gives a whopping £110 automatic cashback.
The deal includes 100 minutes, 100 texts and unlimited internet (with a fair usage policy of 500MB). Upgrading to a beefier monthly offer of 300 minutes and 300 texts will cost a mere 40p per month.
The Xperia X10 mini is set to be replaced over the next few months by another Android-based handset. it runs on Android 1.6 (upgradable to Android 2.1) and weighs a mere 88 grams.
Although it has a 2.55-inch touchscreen, its four corner interface makes it easy to navigate and because it doesn't have a resource-hungry interface like the Timescape, its 600MHz Qualcomm processor doesn't grind to a halt.
With a dedicated Walkman music player, a 5-megapixel camera with AF, Wi-Fi and support for microSD memory cards up to 32GB, the Sony Ericsson X10 mini is the cheapest Android handset available on a contract.
