Foursquare Grew 3,400 Per Cent In 2010

Location-based social networking platform Foursquare has posted 3,400 per cent growth in the number of check-ins in 2010.

The company informed via an infograph that over 381 million people from every single country on the planet had checked-in to locations using Foursquare in 2010, with the last check-in coming, somewhat suprisingly, from North Korea.

According to the infograph, someone at the International Space Station also checked-in from space using Foursquare on 22 October 2010.

Foursquare revealed that the Rally To Restore Sanity event, held in October 2010 in Washington D.C, had received 30,525 check-ins - the largest number of check-ins received by an event last year.

The company unveiled that the top three hotels based on check-ins were the Ace Hotel in New York, Wynn Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and the St. Regis in San Francisco.

According to Foursquare, the top three music venues were Terminal 5 in New York, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and the Mercury Lounge in New York.
