Blackberry Playbook To Cost $499.99 Only

The RIM Blackberry Playbook will be available for as little as $499.99 and will be available from Office Depot in the US and possibly in the UK.

A slide leaked to Crackberry.com shows that the 16GB Wi-Fi version of the tablet will cost less than previously thought.

It will be available instore towards the end of March/beginning of April. Amazon and Best Buy are likely to offer the tablet on preorder fairly soon and many are expecting a discount on the manufacturer's suggested price.

The Playbook has a 7-inch tablet with a 1024x600 pixels screen resolution; it runs on a dual core Marvel ARM-bsaed processor clocked at 1GHz and packs Wi-Fi, a five megapixel rear facing camera, a three megapixel front facing one as well as QNX OS.

It only weighs 400g which is just slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Tab and surprisingly, it is/was slimmer than most of the Blackberry handsets.
