Carphone Warehouse has managed to grab the UK exclusivity for the HTC Incredible S as it was the case for the Samsung Nexus S; the phone will also be available from Best Buy.

Interested parties can already register their interest on a dedicated Carphone Warehouse page with the phone expected to come in March 2011.

The phone was only released a few days ago at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and is basically a reworked version of the Desire HD which will sit between the latter and the HTC Desire S.

The Incredible S comes with what HTC calls a "Sculpted, matte black body" together with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM - more than the Desire HD (HTC website mentions 768MB though), 8GB onboard storage, an eight-megapixel camera with flash and AF and a 1.3-megapixel webcam.

It has a smaller 4-inch WVGA screen and doesn't come with Gingerbread (although an OTA update will bring that in due course.

Instead, it relies on Froyo with HTC Sense bundled in. The 1450mAh battery will provide a talktime of up to 380 minutes in WCDMA and 580 minutes in GSM.

The Incredible S is likely to be sold for around £35 on a two year contract with a data bundle from on all major networks in the UK.
