Egyptian bloke names his daughter Facebook

An Egyptian bloke has named his daughter Facebook Jamal Ibrahim, to pay homage to the social notworking site's role in organising protests to oust Hosni Mubarak.

According to the Arabic-language newspaper Al-Ahram - one of Egypt's biggest - Jamal Ibrahim's family chose the name to "express their continuing support for the revolution that started on Facebook."

Egypt counts some five million Facebook users and the site - along with Twitter and others - was credited with giving protesters a platform to organise themselves in a nationwide campign to oust Mubarak after 30 years of autocratic rule.
