Price Of 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro Slashed To £929

Those looking to buy the cheapest Apple MacBook Pro can look forward to a £70 discount from Dixons; the high street retailer currently lists the laptop for £999 but there's a discount code floating around that brings the price down to £929.07.

By apply DXPC7 at the checkout, customers get an automatic seven per cent discount; the discount code can be used over again; ideal if you want to buy other items as well.

At £927, the Apple Macbook Pro is only £60 more expensive than the bog-standard MacBook laptop; which comes with half the memory, a slower processor, less hard disk drive and lacks other goodies as well (like Thunderbolt and an SD card reader).

The new Apple MBP has a Core i5-2410M processor, 4GB RAM, a 320GB hard disk drive, Intel HD Graphics 3000 GPU with 384MB DDR3 SDRAM shared with the main memory; the only feature where the older MBP and the MacBook are superior.

The rest of the configuration; the 13.3-inch 1280x800 LED-backlit glossy screen, the SuperDrive, the connectivity, the operating system and the battery life haven't been changed (ed : you do get that Thunderbolt connector and the Facetime HD camera).

Note that you will be able to apply the discount to the four other 15-inch and 17-inch Apple MBP laptops that Apple is offering as well as the other MacBook products.
